Girl Scouts Visiting Dream Dinners

This month, we are honored to be hosting another local girl scout troop. This is a great opportunity for us to teach food handling safety, measuring, proper food storage and much more to the youth of our community.

Boys & Girls Club Garden Party

Dream Dinners is committed to giving back to our local community! Join us next Sunday, April 26th from 2-5pm for the Boys & Girls club's annual Garden Party. http://www.bgclubventura.org/main_sublinks.asp?id=53&sid=82

Join us at the Garden Party and enjoy tastes from local restaurants, confectioners and wineries. The afternoon will also include live entertainment and a silent auction featuring baskets, art and much more. Tickets are on sale now & are only $50 in advance or $60 at the door.

All proceeds go to support the local Boys & Girls Club allowing them to provide vital programs for the local youth.

Earth Day...Ventura!

Earth Day is coming soon and we will be at the festival on April 18th at the Ventura Promenade! On Saturday, April 18th, 2009 Ventura will host a family-friendly community celebration and green products expo - "Earth Day Every Day 2009". This fun and informative event is being sponsored by Ventura Charter School of Arts and Global Education www.venturacharterschool.org/earthday) and the City of Ventura (http://www.cityofventura.net/). “Earth Day Every Day” will have music, entertainment, activities, environmental exhibits and workshops for the whole family. Come down to the Ventura Beachfront Promenade at Surfer’s Point anytime from 11 AM to 7 PM on Saturday, April 18th to join in the celebration and discover ways you and your family can take small steps toward big environmental solutions. Junior Girl Scout Troop #91 Earns their Let's Get Cooking Badge at Dream Dinners!

We had such a great time with Junior Girl Scout Troop #91 at Dream Dinners! We talked with the girls and their mother's about how to properly handle food, handwashing, cooking temperatures and much much more! The girls (supervised by their mother's) had the chance to assemble one 6 serving dinner to take home and cook for their families.

This was a fabulous event and we so look forward to partnering up with more troops and training up our kids in the how to be comfortable in the kitchen!
